Friends of the Festival
Becoming a Friend of the Festival is the most important and also the easiest way for the individual or family to ensure that the Festival will continue and that programming will get better and more comprehensive. In 2005 we made a good beginning and in 2006 to 2008 we consolidated this but now we need more for 2009 and this means attracting even more Friends to our midst.
The cost is the same this year as last - £10 minimum for an individual or £15 minimum for a family at one address. More than this will be gratefully received of course and in 2006 a significant number of Friends were able to do this.
Friends get an event special to them and also receive a free brochure in advance of general publication and an opportunity to book performances ahead of the general public.
We are making a special appeal to potential and exisiting Friends of the Festival this year. We will run two separate festivals - Jazz in April and Music and Arts in July.
We welcome Friends participation in the actual Festival Week. There are opportunities for organising and helping with workshops, stewarding (with free admission to concerts).
