You would not come to Budleigh Salterton expecting to see huge hotels and large restaurants.
However, in small luxury establishments there is all the visitor could wish for.
Everything is here: luxurious small hotels, comfortable B & Bs, pubs and restaurants just waiting to cater for all the visitor might need.
The Feathers Hotel is a famous and busy pub in the High Street where an excellent lunch or dinner may be had or a convivial evening spent over a drink with locals and visitors.
A short distance from the town centre is the award winning Hansard House Hotel, just a stroll from the beach and very convenient for the cliff path and golf course. A short distance further from the beach with splendid views over the Otter Valley is the Long Range Hotel with its warm welcome and luxurious rooms.
B & bs offer wonderful value for money and here we mention Heath Close, so beautifully presented near to the golf course. Tidwell Manor in lovely countryside just outside town offers ensuite rooms in a Georgian Manor House setting. Stoneborough House is another b & b offering elegantly furnished rooms with a guest sitting room.
Places to eat abound in this small town. So many, in fact, that it can be difficult to choose where to take meals, to enjoy a morning coffee or a deli snack, or to relax over a gourmet meal. People in Devon travel to the town for a fish and chips supper in the Premier Cafe or on the nearby sea front. We also select the new Ocean House in the High Street close to shops and the seashore and the Tobias Restaurant for special mention. Right in the centre of town is the friendly and convenient Slice of Lyme so close to the beach for that licensed bistro-cafe appeal to those wishing to take lunch after sunbathing.
Whichever one of these establishments you choose to enhance your visit to the town we wish you a happy stay and invite you to come again to enjoy the festivals that form much of Budleigh Salterton life. |
