Information for Artists

The Budleigh Salterton Music and Drama Festival's programme is supported by specialist programmers in the areas of modern music and contemporary drama.

In order to get to know the work of artists unfamiliar to us, we need to hear them. The first step is to listen to recordings. We much prefer live recordings. Videos and, in the case of composers, scores are also most welcome.

Once these have been considered, they will be returned unless we specifically ask to hold on to them.

We will keep artists in mind for future festivals. This is a matter of carefully marrying what artists can contribute to the particular objectives of each festival. Our current focus is on classical, early, contemporary music, modern musical drama, contemporary drama and other theatrical performance. We also intend to have a broad cultural theme each year.

If we wish to involve particular artists in a Festival, we will then make contact.

Planning for Budleigh Salterton Music and Drama Festival is finalised four months before the start of the festival - proposals received after this time will be considered for future years. The majority of programming for this year will take place five months in advance of the event.
